At GOD'S CHOSEN ONES, our mission is to provide safe transitional housing and opportunities to people who have completed an addiction recovery program.
Our first home in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, operated successfully for over three years before financial constraints in the aftermath of the COVID-19 lockdowns forced us to close its doors. Despite this, it remains a cornerstone of our vision. We are proud to announce that we are starting a new chapter in San Diego, California!
We aim to grow a supportive community where those recovering from addiction can rebuild their lives alongside individuals who have successfully navigated the journey to recovery. We provide the means for individuals of all faiths to create sustainable lifestyles through healthy habits, accountability, and meaningful engagement with our resources.
For individuals in recovery, finding safe and stable housing after treatment is a critical hurdle. Many face barriers such as financial insecurity, stigma, and a lack of supportive environment, all of which can lead to relapse. Without access to transitional housing and resources, the path to lasting recovery becomes even more difficult.

Our transition homes bridge the gap between recovery and independent living. We provide a safe, structured environment where residents can focus on rebuilding their lives. Through affordable housing, life skills training, and access to employment opportunities, we empower individuals to achieve lasting stability and success.
We collaborate with local organizations, community leaders, and recovery advocates to identify individuals in need of transitional housing and support.
Our dedicated volunteers, donors, and community partners work tirelessly to fundraise, gather resources, and organize support for our residents, fueling transformation.

Our Story
GOD'S CHOSEN ONES was founded in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, to provide a vital bridge for individuals transitioning from addiction recovery to independent living. Our story began with Warren Garrett, who, through his own recovery journey and work managing a men’s recovery house, recognized a systemic gap. Men leaving treatment programs were often forced into unsafe environments—housing options plagued by drug use and criminal activity—that jeopardized their newfound sobriety and derailed their progress.
In 2018, Warren took action by opening his own home to offer affordable, short-term housing in a supportive environment. This approach removed the immediate pressures of long-term leases and financial independence, giving residents the stability they needed to rebuild their lives. GOD'S CHOSEN ONES emerged as more than just a housing solution; it became a movement dedicated to inspiring and empowering individuals in recovery through fellowship, mentorship, and purpose-driven living.
The Lebanon chapter of GOD'S CHOSEN ONES was a vital part of our mission to support individuals in recovery. Unfortunately, the unforeseen financial challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic forced us to close our doors. While this chapter’s untimely closure marked a somber moment in our journey, it also strengthened our resolve to rebuild and expand our efforts, ensuring that our mission continues to thrive in the communities we serve.
In 2023, we embraced a new chapter by relocating our headquarters from Lebanon, Pennsylvania to San Diego, California. This move reflects our commitment to broadening our impact and reaching even more individuals in need. With a renewed vision and steadfast dedication, we continue to bring hope, healing, and transformation to communities affected by addiction. Together, we are building brighter futures—one life at a time.
